Thursday, September 12, 2019
Dan and Ruth
While it actually precedes Fall once children are back it school it is time to look for the change in the color of leaves and the crispness in the air. As the weather forecasters have recently said September is on track to be the coolest in forecasting records.

While the above is correct, the number of people showing up for the monthly meal, program and get together for many of the older members of the surrounding community began with at least 80 in attendance. Many people are present shortly after members of the church have set the tables and chairs for the guests. Coffee is ready and a number of our friends are there to sip with their friends.  Around 11:30 AM the program this month was announced by Carol Bruneau who introduced Melanie Cahill from the South Portland Housing Authority, the Director of Operations. Her theme was on Home Modifications for seniors. She also said that seniors who qualify may be a able to draw some monies from a grant that ends at the end of this year.

More community guests
We are blessed with a great chef in Brad Morrison and he often has help from other males and females in the kitchen. On this occasion he prepared chicken lasagna that was very tasty and many of the guests raved about it. Rosemary had prepared tollhouse squares for dessert. At least 23 members of the congregation were able to avail themselves of the opportunity to serve, to set up and take down the chairs and tables.
