Summer has come to
Peoples UMC!
For the first time
in many years, Peoples UMC was privileged to march in South Portland’s Memorial
Day Parade, while still providing free bottled water to those who
gathered.
We also gathered to
celebrate Pentecost and discussed the movement of the Spirit and how we may
better live out that call to ministry and mission.
On June 11, we will celebrate
our graduates and Sunday School with an ice cream social.
As has been our
tradition, we will be moving our worship into the less formal (and more
comfortable) Ellis Hall on July 2.
This summer we will offer two message series. The first will be “Summer Fruit”, a look at the Fruit of the
Spirit in our lives. This will be
followed (beginning July 23) with the series “Eye On The Prize: Television Game Shows,” where we will
see what we may learn from such programs as Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, The
Price Is Right, Deal Or No Deal, and many others.
During our worship
time together, there are opportunities to share musical gifts as we sing,
praise and pray together.
As the summer moves
on, we will also be collecting school supplies and, back by popular demand, the
return of the Beanless Bean Supper.
Also on the calendar
is our Annual Yard Sale on Aug. 5.
Please watch for announcements regarding donations.
Of course, plans for
the fall will also be undertaken with new ministries and new opportunities.
Throughout the
summer we gather for worship 10 am Sundays. We hope you will join us and invite your friends and
neighbors. It promises to be a
fun, full summer at Peoples!
