Five Couples Renew Thier Wedding Vows

Pastor Tom and Debbie
Pastor Tom’s sermon title was “Leaning and Lifting” and it presented Biblical reference to relationships which certainly was appropriate for this special day for the church and for the five couples who chose to renew their marital vows on this occasion. The Scripture he used was from Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12.

Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

When it came time for the Renewal of Vows Ceremony five couples came to the front of Ellis Hall and were led by Pastor Tom in restating the vows they take had taken

with each other a varying number of years ago. Wealthy and Earle, Jeanne and Dick, Shari and Dick, Pam and Len and Joanne and Chuck were the five couples that came forward. As other couples and singles sat in the congregation the meaning of the words that each of the five couples were stating were meaningful to all and our commitments to  others past and present through marriage, friendship and family.
