Troop 23 honors new Eagle Scout

Scouts Honor New Eagle

Dedication of Playground
Playground in use
During the year 2015 a new playground was developed to replace an old one behind Peoples United Methodist Church. The project was spearheaded by Jake, a young man who is a member of BSA Troop 23.  The troop has met at Peoples almost continuously since 1918. Only during the years of World War ll did the troop not meet.

Congratulations on a job well done
During all of those years the troop leaders have been active in teaching young men many skills that they are able to use both outside and inside. This Eagle project led by Jake helped a number of young men develop skills in construction as well as community service. We of Peoples  UMC are humbled by the work and quality exemplified by Jake and his crew. The playground replaces an older one that could be found at this location before.

We are also happy to include in this posting some of the pictures taken at the time the playground was dedicated as well as a few during the Eagle ceremony held in Ellis Hall on Sunday, May 22, 2016.

Congratulations  are extended from Peoples UMC to Jake and his family as well as the present leaders of Troop 23 which include Lynn and Joe. We wish you many more years of success in training young folks to better handle the leadership and follower task that each will face in their futures.
