Just chatting before working
Since the fall of 2015 the men of Peoples have met on the second Saturday of each month for breakfast followed by a business meeting. Brad Morrison is usually responsible for the breakfast with assistance from others such as Dick Small. Elected or appointed to various positions were the following: President Merrill Kaiser, Vice President Dan Doughty, Secretary Art Tordoff, Treasurer Keith Snoddy with Lin Arnold serving as Missions leader, Dick and Aaron Matthews as Communications heads, Andy Folley responsible for planning social events and both Dick Small and Dan Doughty  responsible for work projects. Pastor Tom serves as our spiritual leader.

A survey to determine the talents and interests of members was put together by Andy and Lin. The filled out forms have yet to be turned in.

An anonymous donation of $4000 was made to the club to be used on church related maintenance projects. The first of which is now underway with an overhaul of the garage at the parsonage. Dick S, Pat M and John were the first to put their heads together on this endeavor and quickly involved Randy in the preliminary plans and the acquisition of materials. The aforementioned men as well as Jim began the preparation of the building for siding during the week preceding May 14.

After breakfast on Saturday the 14th Dick S led Dave B Dan D, Randy P, John T, Dick M, Jim M, Keith S, Merrill K and Brad M to the garage at the parsonage. What siding that had not been stripped away was taken care of by the crew. The large garage door and the side entrance door were taken out leaving a big gap to be filled with new materials. Some of the floor boards of the garage also needed to be replaced. Soon measurements were being taken and the first strips of siding were put in place on the back and on the left side of the garage. Soffits were repaired or rebuilt and all of the above mentioned were involved at one job or another. Lin A was also present and his work of the day took him to the front porch of the parsonage where the ceiling and posts needed to be scraped and repainted. There still was much to be done but this project is also well underway. Seeing that all of the work on the garage and parsonage was being covered Art T mowed most of the lawn area around the church. This was the first time for mowing this year and there was plenty to mow and trim. It appears that more than one person at a time could be used to get the job done.

Thanks ladies for a great lunch
Boy am I hungrey
Around noon the work crews took a break and were treated to lunch in Ellis Hall provided by Carol, Rosemary and Shari. We thank the ladies for their contribution to this work day.

Most of the men continued to work for some time after lunch and much was accomplished although there is much yet to do. We are blessed to have so many men of the church that are capable of doing the kind of work that was undertaken as well as providing the money to do what has and will continue to be accomplished.
