Advent Studies begin the week of November 29 to prepare our hearts for Christmas using the text, “The Advent of the Savior.” On a seemingly ordinary day, in a manger in the middle of bustling, overcrowded Bethlehem, the promised Messiah slipped into the world as a tiny baby. Thousands had longed for his coming, few witnessed his entrance, but millions have been changed by his life. These six studies, edited by Cindy Bunch, will introduce you to the circumstances surrounding the birth of Jesus, remind you of God's faithfulness and power to fulfill his promises, and draw you more deeply into the love that brought Christ to earth.Three groups plan on using this study: Adult Sunday School, Tuesday morning Bible study, and a new group that will be meeting at Betsy Ross, most likely on Thursday during the daytime. Also, there are a number of personal devotional Advent study guides that would be excellent for those who cannot attend a group study. These are on a table in Ellis Hall with the suggested donation prices marked on them. These also make nice gifts for a friend with whom you would like to share the love of Jesus.
