THINGS HEAT UP IN THE AUTUMN!

   

      Fall is in the air and that means things are really gearing up here at Peoples UMC. 
     We will hold our annual Blessing of the Backpacks during worship (10 AM) on September 1.  Teachers, students, administrators are all invited to join us for a blessing as we start the new school year.  Bring your backpacks to the altar.  We will also be collecting backpacks and school supplies for those who may need them.
     Sunday School kicks off the following Sunday, September 8.  Be a part of sharing our faith with our children in a fun way.
     Choir and Bell Choir rehearsals reconvene Thursday September 12.  We ring the bells at 6 PM and sing at 7 PM.  No experience necessary, so come join us and make a joyful noise.
     The first Men's Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday September 14 at 7:30 AM and the first Public Bean Supper of the season is the following Saturday, September 21, at 5 PM
     Where will our Mystery Ride take us this year?  Find out after worship on September 28.
     The Annual Variety Show will take place 7 PM Friday October 4 in the Vestry.
     And that's just for starters!  Watch for announcements regarding the Carnival, Advent Happenings, Christmas Fair, Game Days, and more. 
    We are moving and growing and we invite YOU to be a part of our ministry!  We gather for worship every Sunday at 10 AM and for Prayer every Wednesday at 7 PM! 
     If you have not visited us yet, WELCOME!  If you've been gone for the summer, WELCOME BACK!!  If you've been gone for a while, WELCOME HOME!!!

Beanless Bean Supper!

            For three seasons each year Peoples United Methodist Church is known for its monthly bean suppers.  This summer we invite you to participate in our first Beanless Bean Supper on August 18 to benefit the ministries of Peoples United Methodist Church.

    

        To ensure the success of this event you are invited to NOT bake beans, NOT bake a cake, pie, cookies, or brownies.  You do NOT have to find the recipe.  You do NOT have to shop for the ingredients.  You do NOT have to mix.  You do NOT have to cook.    You do NOT have to cut.   You do NOT have to wrap.  You do NOT have to wash dishes.  You do NOT have to clean up.  You do NOT have to deliver a casserole..  You do NOT have to work in the kitchen.   You do Not have to clean up afterward.   In fact, you can be really ambitious and NOT do any combination of the above.

            What you CAN do is join the fun!   Using the suggested guide below, you CAN write a check to Peoples UMC and bring it to church on August 18 or mail it in.  Then stay home and enjoy doing something yourself or with your family!
